The coral is shaped by light. Its intricate skeletal surface creates a complex field of ridges, grooves, and microscopic structures that scatter light across its surface. Around Kish Island, hard corals such as Acropora, Porites, and Dipsastrea form part of the island’s distinctive reef landscape. We studied these natural structures and translated their irregular surface morphology into the texture of the ring — creating a surface designed to catch, scatter, and reflect light from every angle.
